By the time we finished all this fun, the neighbor children were ready to slide. The neighborhood has a big fourth of July party. We spent the day outdoors playing and eating barbeque and the night with a great fireworks show. It was a great day!

Fourth of July!
We had so much fun on the Fourth. We started early with the first annual Packer Family Freedom Fun Run. The fancy title makes it sound somehow more special than all the other days we go out running. We began with opening ceremonies which included the raising of the flag and a few patriotic songs. Caleb rode his bike, but the girls got a free ride (I have to give Amelia her credit for running the last stretch). Afterward we had an awards ceremony. Caleb recieved the "toughest athlete" award (it was the first time he rode 5 miles all by himself). Amelia received the "most festive" award (she dresed up in red wite and blue and yelled "Happy Fourth of July "to everyone we passed) and Livvy won the "most encouraging" award (she spent the whole time yelling "faster faster").
By the time we finished all this fun, the neighbor children were ready to slide. The neighborhood has a big fourth of July party. We spent the day outdoors playing and eating barbeque and the night with a great fireworks show. It was a great day!

What a fun neighborhood! Did you all have to pitch in money to rent the big slide? That looks like it was a lot of fun.
Now that's a SLIDE!! Looks like you had a great 4th of July.
